But our trainees also like to spend their breaks together outside work or meet up after work. Friendships have often blossomed that go far beyond the usual cooperation at work.

Even in the first year of my apprenticeship I was able to gain many new impressions and experiences, to work on versatile projects and to let my creativity run free. I can therefore only recommend training at Müller Medien to everyone, because no two days are the same here!
Tobias W.
My training in the first year of my apprenticeship at IT2media, due to Covid, has been characterised by working and learning in the home office. Despite that, I have been able to learn a forward-looking profession in a young innovative company, which I appreciate very much. I particularly like the fact that I have contact with my colleagues despite working from home, and that I am taught the content of my training.

What our trainees (m/f/d) say:
Christoph K.
Hi Chris, tell us briefly about yourself and how you came to Müller Medien?
I come from near Nuremberg and studied business administration here at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences. During my studies, I attended a lecture in the field of online marketing - by chance, that lecturer was an employee of Müller Verlag, and his exciting lectures sparked my interest in the company and the industry. After a brief exchange, the opportunity soon arose for me to write my final thesis at a start-up belonging to the New Business division of Müller Medien GmbH & Co. KG. That was more or less my first point of contact with the company - today I work as a trainee in the Marketing & Sales department. In my free time, I like to hang out with friends and family, listen to music or play sports - football is my great passion.
How did the selection process go from your point of view?
Super uncomplicated! First of all, I had an insanely nice, informative conversation with the HR department, during which - from my point of view - an open and fair exchange was ensured at all times. This was followed by a one-on-one meeting with the New Business executive. Here, too, I felt super comfortable and I quickly realised that I was valued here as the person I am. All in all, it was also very helpful for me once again to check to what extent there was a fit between the two sides. In October 2020, I started my one-year trainee programme at Müller Medien. I'm really glad that I was given the power to decide right from the start whether my trainee programme should last one or two years and that I was trusted and given the chance to make a career start despite the ongoing pandemic.
In which departments have you been employed so far and what activities have you taken on, for example?
Up to now, I have mainly been employed in sales and product management at SELLWERK. I have had the opportunity to meet new and existing customers together with experienced sales managers in the field and even celebrate my own first successes. In addition to on-site customer meetings, I have been assigned my own sales project, which I was allowed to set up and then present to my colleagues from the specialist departments. I would like to stress that my work was always appreciated and that I was allowed to present my results - even to senior people. That has not always been a matter of course for me! In the area of product management, I helped design product flyers and sales documents, independently created and evaluated several surveys for market research purposes and actively took part in new product developments, among other things.
What do you appreciate about your trainee programme and working at SELLWERK/Müller Medien?
First and foremost, the personal appreciation of the Müller Media family! Since the beginning of my trainee programme, I have been and continue to be trusted by all sides, so that I have already been able to work on and present numerous, exciting projects independently - as already described above. I always notice how my superiors and colleagues believe in me, want to promote me and help me get ahead - this spurs me on day after day to do my best. In addition, I have only nice and likeable colleagues around me. So it's all the nicer that many professional "relationships" have already developed into friendships.
What are your plans for the time after the trainee programme?
After the various departments and activities, I realised relatively quickly that my real love is sales. That is why I am currently in talks for a responsible junior position as sales manager in our company.
Last but not least - Do you have one or two tips for future trainees
The numerous, different assignments during your trainee programme will give you the opportunity to gain insights into many different areas and departments of the company. What's particularly nice, and what I would like to stress at this point, is that you don't have to decide from the outset which path to take after the trainee programme, but can find the right place for you in our company throughout the duration of your trainee period. Otherwise, just keep your eye on the ball and don't be afraid to approach the people in charge directly if you have any questions or problems.
Nicole B.
Hey Nicole, please tell us something about yourself and how you came to Müller Medien?
My name is Nicole and I have been in the Müller Media family for 5 years now (hard to believe). After my training as a marketing communications specialist and my studies in applied media and communication sciences, I was looking for a position where I could gain a lot of practical knowledge. The trainee position at Müller Medien appealed to me right away because you can get to know many companies and their activities during the two years. So I sent off my application and after the interview, I was even more convinced that this was exactly the right thing for me.
In which departments or companies of Müller Medien were you employed at that time, in particular, and what activities did you take on here?
My first assignment was directly at Sellwerk in the product team. There, products and offers for Sellwerk's customers are developed, improved and strategically prepared for marketing. During the onboarding of the online appointment calendar (one of the products in question), I was able to get to know Sellwerk's customers directly and find out what is particularly important to the target group. This also helped me later, during my assignment in the field. I felt particularly comfortable in the New Business area, where I was able to take on projects in a number of companies. For example, at apomio I would be allowed to come up with a new strategy for the newsletter and also be responsible for implementing it. At fitogram in Cologne I revised the Google Ads campaigns. My work in Performance Marketing at united vertical media helped me a lot, as I was able to learn a great deal about Google Ads and Facebook campaigns there. At ärzte.de, where I now also work, I was able to help with the relaunch of the ÄRZTE.DE website and take over project management.
What do you like about the trainee programme and working at Müller Medien?
I particularly appreciate the trainee programme for its versatility. Every company has a different focus and different target groups that need to be addressed. Thus, one gets to know many perspectives in a short time. In every area, you receive a warm welcome and are given a lot of responsibility and trust right from the start. At Müller Medien, there are many opportunities to exchange ideas with other companies, to make contacts and so to share experiences.
Your trainee programme was successfully completed several years ago. We are pleased that you are still working in the Müller Medien family of companies. Where were you taken on then and what do you do professionally today?
Yes, for three years now, directly after my trainee period, I have been with ärzte.de MediService GmbH & Co.KG, which I also got to know during my time as a trainee. I started there as a Marketing Manager and have developed in a short time, so that I am now Head of Marketing & Sales. I manage the editorial/marketing and sales departments. I am also responsible for the project management of the websites ÄRZTE.DE, sanego.de, operationauge.de and facharzt24.com. In the last three years, I have been able to further my education in graphics and data protection, so that I also handle these areas at ärzte.de. In particular the creative work gives me a lot of pleasure.
Last but not least - Do you have one or two tips for future trainees?
Don't be nervous when you get to implement a big project, which looks like a lot of responsibility. On the one hand, there is always help on hand and on the other hand, you learn a lot in a short time and grow beyond yourself. Most of the time, projects are easier to implement than they seem at the beginning.
